In the past, we did perform micro-invasive excision surgery on the perineal area, but through long-term clinical follow-up, we found three major challenges with perineal surgery:
1. Extremely Difficult Wound Care
The perineal area is adjacent to the urethra and anus, one of the highest bacterial load areas of the body. Combined with toileting needs, it's extremely difficult to keep wounds sterile and dry.
2. High Healing Risks
This area is constantly moist and experiences friction during walking, making surgical wounds prone to dehiscence or infection.
3. Scarring and Adhesions
If infection occurs during healing, it can leave uneven scars or adhesions, causing future discomfort.
Conclusion

This is based on safety considerations. The perineal area is special in location, close to urinary and anal openings, with high bacterial load and difficulty maintaining dryness. Surgical wounds are highly prone to infection or dehiscence. In contrast, non-invasive thermolysis has no open wounds, reducing infection risks while providing 70-80% satisfactory results.
Will hair volume be affected after non-invasive treatment?
Yes, and this is usually considered a benefit. Since apocrine glands and hair follicles are close together, thermal treatment destroys some follicles while treating glands. Pubic hair volume typically decreases by 50-80%, making intimate areas fresher and reducing odor retention.
Is 70-80% odor reduction enough?
For most patients, yes. A 70-80% improvement means odor will be significantly reduced to levels undetectable even at social or intimate distances. Unless extremely severe, non-invasive treatment can help you regain confidence.
Is the treatment painful?
No. We use "local anesthesia plus gentle pain-relief anesthesia": besides local anesthesia, a gentle pain-relief medication is given via IV to keep you relaxed, monitored throughout and breathing on your own (no general anesthesia), so discomfort during the procedure is kept very low. You may experience some swelling afterward, but strong painkillers are usually unnecessary.
How long is recovery? When can I resume intimate activities?
